Too much bandwidthPublished in xbox live, live arcade by Ebrahim Sadien |
I checked the usage of my free 10GB trial account from WebAfrica recently and realised that I had only used 300MB. Because the trial was scheduled to end at the end of October, I decided to go on a weekend downloading spree.
I logged into Live and downloaded as many Arcade games as I could. I was even tempted to download themes and anything else that I could get my hands on. Even the Call of Duty map packs were starting to look attractive but the fact that I had to buy points and then login to a VPN turned me off that idea. As I was gorging myself on downloads I realised that 10GB of International bandwidth is alot even if you download 500MB Live games. WebAfrica mentioned on their forum that their new product offerings will be available early next year. I am keen to see what changes they will make to their pricing.

Xtival 09 is comingPublished in xbox live, xbox, live arcade by Ebrahim Sadien |
From 1 - 4 May Xbox Live will provide free Live Gold membership as part of their Xbox Live gaming festival . If you have not registered for Live, simply register via your Xbox and use Google to find a valid UK street address.
In order to download content from Live you may need to make use of a UK based VPN service and I will provide more information on how to do this shortly. I am very excited about getting some Free Gold live action. I plan on getting my Nazi Zombies on , Call of Duty style.

The Duke is BackPublished in xbox live, xbox, live arcade by Ebrahim Sadien |
Duke Nukem 3D will be released on Xbox Live Arcade in September. The Duke will be visually enhanced which will make the classic 3D shooter that much greater. I am an avid Duke Nukem fan having cut my teeth playing the game at university. I even closed a computer lab so that we could enjoy an undisturbed gaming session but shhh... don't tell anyone.
The updated version will also include the ability to save films of your game play as well as a rewind feature a la Prince of Persia. Duke Nukem Forever has done the franchise alot of harm but I think this XBLA version will be worth the points. Next on my wish list for a remake is Shadow Warrior , the game is in need of a sequel or at the very least the XBLA make-over treatment. Let the Duke go with some dignity...give us more Wang!

Rumour and innuendoPublished in xbox, playstation, live arcade by Ebrahim Sadien |
I saw two news posts on Maxconsole speculating about a price cut for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. At this point it appears to be speculation only but any price cut is good for the beleaguered consumer.
In other Xbox news, Undertow will be available for free for a limited time on Xbox Live. This is part of Microsoft’s damage control programme as a result of the XBL downtime. E |
